D-Mannoose and UTI prevention
I've read that taking D-Mannoose can flush toxins from bladder and kidneys. But don't take too much
Anyone have any experiences to share w this? I'm experiencing reoccurring UTIs. Was taking AZO and pumpkin for bladder support

YES, that's part of my regimen daily. I take 2000mg D-Mannose twice a day, first with lots of water before coffee, the weaker the better or just drink more water first, It doesn't exactly flush toxins, it is a safe sugar that coats the bladder making it nearly impervious to bacteria. BUT that is not enough for me. Look up Methenamine. I take one in morning after breakfast and one at bedtime. It's not exactly an antibiotic; you could think of it as a sanitizer against bacteria. Either way, it has worked for me for 10 months now, with only one infection UTI after a long place trip when I likely did not drink enough water. I also have cut down diet coke to one small glass a day with ice to dilute it, and drink no lattes, no alcohol. Twice I had a glass of wine but only after plenty of water. You just have to find a urologist who is familiar with the new protocols, and they ask you to go through some other attempts of treatment before using this one which I use. Keep records of dates of infections. Good luck !!!
Wow! Thanks for the info!
I'm always doing research into possible supplements, vitamins and life
changes.
I use it daily and NO UTI's. I used to have them every month for years. I just take one a day and drink lots of water. I once decided I was cured and stopped taking it and BAM! another trip to urgent care. I won'r stop regimen any more.
I use d mannose. And I have no uti’s. I had read about it and have been on over year now. Also do kegel exercises
My urologist did say there's a great deal of support for the use of Cranberry juice (100%) or Cranberry Extract capsules in preventing bacteria from adhering to the bladder lining.
Thanks for info n experience. Cranberry juice aggravated my gastritis so I was hopeful w D-Mannoose.
Depending on your cause if UTI and what each individual will work for them it's a give it a try approach! 👍 Thanks
True about cranberry juice for most. It aggravated my gut so I tried cranberry supplement also pumpkin and pre/probiotics. I'm leaning towards what's causing it. I'm guessing a prolapsed bladder. Seeing urologist in March. Stay healthy ♥️
Everyone has been very generous in sharing experiences with juices, supplements and vitamins for the prevention and treatment of UTI. Someone mentioned flushing out the kidneys with good hydration. That reminded me of a situation when I was really little. I was 5 or 6 years old and ended up hospitalized with something called “nephritis”. Wow did everybody push fluids (WATER) at that time. A carafe on the bedside table and constantly prompting me to empty the glass, then refilling it. One day I got so tired of it I emptied all right; ON THE FLOOR! After that, mercifully my older brother suggested that other beverages might be acceptable. He would buy me milk shakes from the hospital cafeteria and the nurses / doctors allowed me to have them. I’m NOT suggesting that milk shakes are a good treatment for UTI. This is just a sweet memory. I still resist plain water to this day (I’m 68 now) but I do know that good hydration is important.
