Curative Radiation to the prostate after triplet therapy SBRT?
I was diagnosed deno stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer to the bone only July 2022. I received radiation to my spin and ribs due to severe pain. I am on Eligard 3 month injections, Nubeqa, and I had 10 cycles of Docetaxel. After a recent bone scan that showed tremendous improvement, a negative PSMA PET scan, and a Pelvic MRI, my doctors are allowing me to get radiation to the prostate (4 weeks). Because I have remained undetectable for 3+ years now they are saying that this could prolong deep durable remission. One doctor said, dare we say cure. Has anyone else out there had this done?

I attend weekly ancan.org Advanced prostate cancer meetings. This has been something they talk about a lot, that treating the primary is really essential to prevent future spread.
Recently, some studies have shown that when there is a very advanced case that treating the primary (prostate) Doesn’t improve the outcome. Rick, who runs the meetings was always emphatic about doing it, but now is letting people know about this other opinion. It’s something you could ask your doctor about.
It sure sounds like it makes sense.
