Cryoablation & Cementoplasty Treatment for NET Bone Metastases

Posted by markmark007 @markmark007, Nov 30, 2025

My wife has been battling NET bone involvement since 2018 (co- primary sites pancreas and SB found in 2014).
Treatments including PRRT (4X) sessions while stabilizing organ involvement have not been effective in stabilizing bone lesions.
Does anyone have experience with the treatment as described in the subject post?
Many thanks

I believe @ricki8 @californiazebra have experience with cryoablation for NETs and may be able to offer some insights.

@markmark007, cementoplasty as a palliative treatment for bone metastases can be done on its own or in addition to other treatments, such as radiotherapy, radiofrequency ablation or cryotherapy. I hope this will relieve any pain she might be having. Will she be getting both cementoplasty and cryoablation?

Hi Colleen Young,

I had a successful 'bland embolization' on my liver. Apparently there is a small percentage of patients that get 'post embolization syndrome' of which I had. I was 6 days in the hospital.

I had microwave ablation (heat instead of cold) on a 2.6 cm lung NET and it successfully destroyed the tumor 5 years ago with no regrowth. I did not have any pain to begin with.

I hope the treatments can alleviate your wife’s pain.
