Creaky body, some bone pain - new since thyroidectomy?
Hi. I did search to see if this has been asked.
I am post thyroidectomy & neck dissection. Post 35 radiation treatments and 6 chemotherapy. I take levothyroxine.
The issue is my legs ache. In truth, my whole body aches. My endocrinologist said its not her area of expertise to address this.
The aching is new. But I am 72.
Last calcium check months ago was 9.
Thoughts? What course of action, self healing?

I am in the care of an endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid cancer. I just had my thyroid levels checked - Tsh, thyroglobulin and antibody and t4.
T3 was not tested.
"In patients with thyroid cancer, thyroglobulin can be a tumor marker, and its presence or elevated levels after treatment can indicate a recurrence of the cancer."
I think the doctor's focus is on identifying cancer recurrence.
Right, of course. I think the hard thing is they have to monitor cancer recurrence but should also be making sure you're properly supplemented since your thyroid was removed. I would make sure that your t3 levels get tested.
I will ask.
Thanks!
