COVID boosters affecting peripheral neuropathy

Posted by bcool123 @bcool123, Dec 3, 2023

Has anyone noticed increased peripheral neuropathy after COVID boosters? It’s time for my COVID booster but I’m worried about it increasing my PN symptoms. I stay out of crowds but I’ve read on Connect about COVID causing or increasing PN . Appreciate any input.

Anyone associate their PN/ symptoms with Covid vaccinations? I

I had the Covid vaccinations right after Covid hit. I had my second one at the very end of January of 2021. In March I decided to retire. Two days after I did I woke up with full onset of pinpricks (head to toe and eyes.) The neurologist said it was rare and he had not had any other patients that happened too. It was within the 6 week time frame to have a reaction. But I don't know. No one else in my family has had anything like this. I had my last Covid shot 9/20/23. I will continue to get the shots because I really don't want anything else. Having the last 4 have not caused me any issues.

Absolutely. I was diagnosed with vaccine induced neuropathy after my first Moderna booster shot. I was not the only patient with the same condition seen by my neurologist.

Thinking back my PN started at about the time of my last Pfizer booster. I have not had any medical person tell me that the Vax caused it, I am just convinced that it did. Now there is more being written or blogged on the subject.
When my PN began I was assuming that it was an inner ear issue as I noticed it first in a slight balance issue.
I feel fortunate that I have been diagnosed as having only mild PN after an EMG was done. So far the PN has been confined to the ankle area with a tightness, however, I have had a couple of issues of shooting pain up the lower leg.

I read last night that the NIH talked about people with neuropathy that took the shots. They say it's related to their neuropathy. I will be seeing a new neurologist and I will pose the same question to that person. I asked the first one I saw how many patients do you have that woke up with full onset of pinpricks? He said none its rare. I will be rereading those articles again.

I didn’t get the shot but did have a bad case of Covid. The tingling in my hands and feet started right after-long Covid symptoms? The only time it bothers me is when I’m sleeping. I exercise regularly and eat a low carb diet and feel great during the day.

If it was the Vax they will never admit it!
