Covid 19 antigen test came back positive

Posted by kwbarton @kwbarton, Dec 6, 2021

I received my Covid Booster on December 1st and and had a typical reaction with aches and pains, chills, cough, fever, and a headache. However, the symptoms persisted beyond a couple of days. So yesterday I took a Covid 19 antigen test and it came back positive. Is this something I should be worried about? My condition remains unchanged.

Hi @kwbarton, false positive results can occur with antigen tests. Was this the result of an at-home antigen test?

Since it is possible that you have a COVID infection, it is recommended that you isolate as per CDC guidelines https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/quarantine-isolation.html

Do you have an appointment to get the test result confirmed?

It was an in home test. I’m aware of the false positives but my symptoms have consistent and unchanged for 5 days. If not Covid 19, what could it be?
