Could coreg be affecting my father’s blood sugar?
Hi everyone,
I am hoping to hear from others who might have had a similar situation.
My father’s A1c levels have been stable and healthy for several years now despite not following any strict diet or workout plan he is always kind of eaten whatever he felt like and things stayed within range until recently.
A few weeks ago, his doctor adjusted his blood pressure medication specifically increasing the dosage of coreg we noticed a sudden spike in his blood sugar readings. It felt like it came out of nowhere things like stress and recent weight gain could play a role too, I won’t deny that but the timing makes me really wonder if the medication is part of the puzzle.
I have been doing some digging but have not come across much solid info that directly ties coreg to elevated blood sugar levels my father thinks it is just coincidence but i am not entirely convinced.
has anyone else experienced higher blood sugar after starting or increasing coreg? or could it be interacting with something else in his routine? I would love to hear any insights and advice from those who have gone through something similar.
Thanks in advance
it really helps to hear from others navigating the same uncertainties.

If things have changed since starting a new med, I discuss it with his doctor.
