Coude or Foley post TRUS

Inquiring of best practice. After a TRUS is a Coude or Foley most appropriate? Is it more beneficial to place a Coude first, or increase risk of infection by staring with a Foley then having to start over with a Coude?

@feliciarussom Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I am not sure what a TRUS is (and don’t do well with acronyms). I don’t know what a Coude is either. I do know that a Foley is a type of urinary catheter, but that isn’t much help to you. Sorry! Hopefully more members who have similar experiences to yours will join in soon and have some valuable input.
