Magnesium powder in juice or water. You will go in 15 minutes. 1/2 teaspoon. If you don't go, take a little more. Can't hurt you.

Magnesium citrate powder. I get it from mail order Piping Rocks. online. The body needs magnesium so it won't hurt you. If you take too much you get diarrhea. I use 1/2 teaspoon in 6 oz of water. I keep adding more until I go.

That’s a supplement vitamin. It is not a laxative. Mira Lax is a mild laxative

Yes I take it for constipation and do so 1 in the morning and 1 at night.
Prescribed by Doctor after colon surgery. It is easy working. I also take ducocat. (spelling)
Both OTC. I just have to play with the dosage to not have diarrhea.

How much Citrucrl do you take daily? In past a full dose of Miralax is more than I can handle. Have cut it to alternate days and reduced dosage of Miralax at my Drs suggestion —still not resolving issues. For about 13 days I was functioning without any of above then constipation returned! Strange!

Citricel is acidic. My colorectal doctor likes the MiraLax and ducoset because they are easier on the body.

Be careful. Just stopping Prolia is risky behaviour! Puts you at risk for spontaneous compression fractures that can happen for up to 2 years after stopping without "relaying" on to another drug (one of the bisphosphonates). The longest you should go between injections is 7 mos.
Yes, I am still on Prolia. Now I am taking break from Senokot and on Miralax. Less cramping but tons of bloating.
I firmly believe it is the Prolia that has made my g.i. issues much much worse (both constipation and acid reflux). Now to get off I would have to do intravenous delivered Reclast and then be able to take break from drugs for a while. The Reclast can stay in system for 18 mos. Who knows what that drug will do?
Also I need a lot of invasive dental work and I think working on patients on bisphosphonates worries dentists even more than Prolia.
Please speak to your doctor re stopping Prolia. At the osteoporosis clinic I go go the endocrinologists would strongly advise against this as does Amgen the drug company that makes Prolia.
Are your g.i. issues better since you stopped?

My latest shot was due at the end of December, but due to a scheduling screwup by the doctors office (not the first time) I'm still waiting. . .....It's a long story, but apparently they are not concerned about me missing a dose by two months !
I went for bloodwork AGAIN yesterday . It's good for 30 days, so we'll see if they screw it up again.
Anyway, my last shot was on June 20th and the chronic constipation is no better. Yes, I have heard the warnings about stopping Prolia, but never from my Doctor. That would have been nice to know up front.
Thanks for your help.

I take Miralax everyday. It helps a little during the week. If I'm still having trouble I'll use Duloclax Bisacodyl once a week and my BMs are soft and that cleans me out.

Is this ok? Thx all. I have tried everything else and eat the recommended amount of fiber.

I called Bayer Miralax div. Asking how to measure a half dose of Miralax— which doctors at one point in hospital ER suggested .
Spokes person for Miralax said “ we don’t know — we only recommend full dose. You should ask your doctor” Does anyone know what half dose is?

Half a capful. Regular dose is a capful.
