Confirm Guillain-Barre syndrome and proper treatment?

With Guillain-Barre syndrome as rare as noted, about 1/100,000 per year - equating to less than 5000 cases per year in the US how do we know this is the right diagnosis and get confirmation at least by consultation from the Mayo Clinic for local doctors. With statistically only ~5 cases in our area a year the confidence on the current steps and plans toward recovery need support from those who have treated more.

I am not seeing how to get a consult instead of an appointment.

Appreciate any insight.

A consult begins with an appointment that provides you a time and date to attend. A referral from another physician will pave the way more smoothly for you and can assist in having medical records shared with Mayo docs.

Thanks. I saw that but we are not in a position to attend. I want a consult, preferably with our local physician and Mayo clinic and looking for advice on that

There are Mayo Clinic affiliated clinics and hospitals. Perhaps this is an avenue you could explore. You can read where these clinics are located and how this works.
