Complications with UTI’s
After three years on immunosupressants I have started getting Urinary tract infections which go undetected until I start having dizzyness. I finished antibiotics three weeks ago but the dizzyness, brain fog, nausea and intermittent blurry long distance vision.
My Rhematologist seem stumped and I am waiting for an ENT appointment.
Has anyone else with Autoimmune had this “ lovely” experience? And what was the diagnosis?
Thanks, Kim

Kim, I have not had your experience, but, I am familiar with uti's. hope the following helps:
1) Stay hydrated.
2) Cranberry juice or Azo Cranberry tablets & D-Mannose supplement as a preventative.
3) Being sedentary can bring on a uti, so stay as active as possible.
4) We are more prone to UTI's as we age.
5) Having bouts of diarrhea can bring on a uti.
I hope some of these help. Praying for you. They are tiring and painful.
I get utis but I drink lots of water and had a cysto scope last week to make sure my bladder is clear of cancer. I had breast cancer and endometrial cancer. Had hysterectomy and lump ectomy of breast. Always watching. Have RA too. Just keep moving forward and have blood tests every month to check liver and kidneys. All is good so far. I am on methetrixate, plyquenil and folic acid for RA. So far it is controlling my RA. I work out and keep moving. Lots of water and cranberry juice.
I take probiotics with strains to help prevent UTI. Since starting this , I haven’t had a one. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16827601/#:~:text=The%20use%20of%20probiotics%2C%20especially,lactobacilli%20may%20protect%20against%20UTIs.
Get a bidet seat. It fits right on the toilet.
Most of these drugs prescribed--statins, antibiotics, blood thinners and more--are compounded with lactose monhydrate. More than 60 percent of the population no longer have the lactase enzyme to break down lactose.
Typically, you end up with diarrhea and the germs within.
I only get UTI's whenever I drink tea, either hot or cold and even with herbal teas. This happened after I had a hysterectomy for endometrial cancel. Never had UTI's before. I just don't drink any tea anymore, only water, sometimes coffee (very little) but no tea. Now do not get the UTI's. So if drinking tea or even lots of soda stop drinking them to see if that helps. Sodas also can cause UTI"s for some people.
