Coming off Teriparatide/Bonsity (Forteo) soon, have dental issues

I've been on Teriparatide/Bonsity (Forteo) for a year and a half and will be coming off of it soon. I've had ongoing dental issues and fully expect, given my dental history, these will continue. I did recently have a root canal and there's nothing expected in the near future but I do have gum issues. I'm trying to decide on what I will go on when coming off the Bonsity. I have reflux already (LPR or silent GERD), so I am wary of Fosomax, etc. I've been going down rabbit holes for months with regards to various osteoporosis med next step options. Any advice?? TIA. (I'm 65 if that matters)

Can you address your dental issues while you're still on Forteo?

As I wrote, I have some recent dental work done. I expect more as I continue to age as I have gum recession issues. Long term issues that no, will not be able to be resolved before coming off the Teraparatide.

I have been on Tymlos and have had dental issues. But I am also on other medications. My doctor suggested 3-4 cleanings a year. If you have your doctor write a letter as to why you need more cleanings, most often your dental insurance will cover it

No dental insurance. I get three cleanings a year. The cleanings aren't the problem. Basic dental stuff isn't the issue. While I maintain excellent oral hygiene habits, through my genes and own past history I know what's coming. I've got gum recession issues. Things have been taken care of as they come and they'll be more coming. I'm guessing the specialist dentists will reject me for additional bone grafts and implants if I'm on Fosomax, Prolia, etc, etc. I've been on Teriparatide, which is fine for now. A couple of others would be fine (don't come with ONJ risks) but are also temporary/short-term. As far as I can tell, that leaves me with Evista, which I was actually on many years ago, and that comes with the scary blood clots and stroke risk.. While I'm not a smoker this still scares me- a lot!

@ssapp1 I have been on Forteo and had a root canal and having problems healing also my gums are so swollen all of a sudden. my doctor wants to put me on either proliair reclast, which both caused jawnecrosis, another issues kidney stones I have a autoimmune disorder of graves disease cause I have no thyroid. I also had previous kidney stones. here's the thing if I go on Evenity, that one causes heart attacks ,strokes, blood clots some of the other medicines can cause heart attacks too from what I was told. So I'm also lost it what to go on next I really don't wanna spend the rest of my life on this stuff with the Forteo I get headaches so severe I still get leg pains and back pain pains and neck pain so I don't know I don't know what to do and I gotta watch the calciums cause if I keep taking calcium I can't take car in it so it's gotta be calcium citrate low doses or get it more naturally with milk and yogurt and stuff because the problem is they formed kidney stones plus they put plaque in your bloodstream I don't know I'm so lost just like you are
