Low back pain & neuropathy issues

Posted by timmckinney @timmckinney, Feb 6, 2018

68 years old and lower back+neuropathy issues make staying active hell. Used to be avid jogger and now cannot be on my feet for more than 10-15 minutes. No meds help. Very depressing.

Foxyjune wow, a Dr turn you away? How very sad. What are you going to do. I lived many years living with what I thought was fibro. Then the diagnosis of RA came to the surface. We are not as far advanced in medical science ad we thought. Blessings and hang in there.

We just have to make and keep going. My husband died 10 yrs ago. I cared him. Sometimes I say what about me. I am presently living in my kids guest house. I decided that was to close. So I am looking for the perfect apt. No stairs incor out. I am sure I will be fine.

Parus, sounds like units I am considering. I cannot afford Independent living in senior place. I am just not ready for that. It cost s min of 2500 to start and goes up every year. At least with an apt, I can negotiate with landlord. Want long lease? Well here is what I want. My only issue is living on first floor in complex. You are very open to possible crime. What happened to this world. Come Lord Jesus.

Yes Hosta, you have it right. Stay in your own home or apt and stay away from infusion living places. I met lots of women who have wished they did not sell their home. I sold mine as it was 2.5 hours away from medical. Moved into sons guest house. Had to start looking for apt ad my kids were smothering me. I am allowed to have my dogs. However I must for own health give away one. I have two registered Yorkies. Two yrs old. They love me deeply

oregongirl, I go to a small church and everyone knows everyone. When we get a new person come, they always say that they come back because we make them feel welcome. We are very outgoing, lots of hugs! I do wish you luck in finding a church where you feel a part of the body of Christ. Try to keep your mind and body as active as possible for your condition. I know that some days it is harder than other days. When our body hurts, it is harder to get going. Do you have any hobbies?

I am attending Cornerstone church in San Antonio. The women's group, older ladies of which I am one is a nice group. I use Uber. I tell people "my driver" is on the way. I agree about having a true Word of God church. Othing close to my home. When I lived in Oregan and there were so many great churches. I had 3 ministers as a close friends.

Hi @parus, thank you for your reply. I get it that we all try to do our best. I guess the hardest part is not getting better. You want to be a somewhat "normal" person. And you are right that being in pain almost always, no one understands what that is like, unless they are in a similar way.

I just read an article on this where the FDA labels it as dangerous. The article was printed in the Bismarck Tribune in North Dakota. I use herbal supplements myself and I am not putting this down, just suggesting some research on this.

I'm going to research this as my knees are giving me trouble now.
