Collegenous Gastritis what works and what doesn't

I've been on budesonide several times. They put me back on for the last 6 months, having another endoscopy and coloscopy in a couple of weeks. If the collagenous colitis shows back up, then I'm going to biologics.

What medical therapies as well as medical nutrition therapies have been tried to help with the management of pain, inflammation and eventual mucosal healing of collagenous gastritis?
My name is Margie. I’m a Dietitian from Brisbane Australia and I’ve recently been diagnosed with collagenous gastritis that appears to have active inflammation but also chronic collagenous infiltrate. The amount of evidence available for effective treatment is quite low and there appears to be such a myriad of treatment response as well as different symptoms from person to person. In my experience I had months of severe left retrosternal chest pain and thought that I actually had like atrial fibrillation or myocarditis but was subsequently given a great tick of approval from my cardiologist. It was only when I was hospitalised because I was sleeping up to 17+ hours a day, I could barely get up and eat, that eventually upon gastroscopy was it found that I had collagenous gastritis confirmed via biopsy. I currently take esomeprazole 20 mg, and I’m about to start budesonide and amitriptyline in the hopes this will resolve my symptoms. I’m also curious about the role of medical nutrition therapy in particular the possibility of exclusive enteral nutrition similar to a Crohn’s disease patient to see if this helps with mucosal healing of the stomach and remission. Is this something that anyone has tried?
