Hi. Very interesting. Drs. Never want to admit if they do a wrong. Mine said I got stuck at a plateau and just couldn't get past it. I see him Monday and I am tell him I am in no way for another procedure. I have to go by what my heart and gut is telling me. It is my knee. Thanks, you have been so encouraging. I have cried and prayed over this so much.

4 Reactionsammaw52. Today it is like my knee is frozen on my left leg where I had tkr. Hard to walk. Really scaring me. It's been this way all day. Could cpm machine have caused this? It has been stiff but this is worse. I don't want mua that Dr wants to do June 17th. But I don't know what to do?
I have an opportunity to get laser therapy to help my post-op recovery from left TKR on November 2, 2022.
I still have a lot of pain and swelling and was wondering if anyone has tried laser and what the results were?
Welcome @nanak, You will notice that we moved your post to an existing discussion below on laser therapy following a TKR so that you can learn what @babette, @golfshrink, @bunky and others have shared.

Did your surgeon or care team recommend laser therapy to help with the pain and swelling?

1 ReactionYou are not too far out of surgery … I am just over 4 months and I have tried many different things . Cold laser , graston tens unit, but the most relief and long lasting relief was from myofascial release or mfr…mfr helps a lot they do lymphatic drainage which helps swelling in your knee tremendously…..especially at the beginning for my first tkr I knew nothing about mfr but thank goodness for second surgery I had mfr in place …. I went twice a week for 30 minutes I had little to no swelling…. So good luck it gets better.

2 ReactionsMy surgeon did not recommend, my chiropractor suggested it for the swelling. I am still on the fence between this and MFR

1 ReactionDr never tells me to try mfr after 8 months of pt. Feb.2 23 is a year ago I had tkr and leg is not straight. I use a cane. The mua at 4 months set me way back. So depressed. In pain. Wish I had never had this done. The new Dr, has actually sent me to pain mgt., Really. He doesn't know what to do. Wants to do complete tkr over in Feb. X rays show everything is in place that was taken in Aug. So Very confused? Any advice? I am my husband's caretaker and cannot go thru that again. It is just him and me.i am 70 ,he is 76. With Dementia and cancer again. Thanks

1 ReactionI went thru the exact same thing, fought pain, sleep deprivation to the point of dark thoughts. But then I found a surgeon in Florida who was honest and gave me my choice of either living with stiffness and No ROM or do revision surgery 4 months after first . I chose the revision and the first week I knew it was the correct decision. Just do your research and get a doctor that knows his stuff.

2 ReactionsThank you, I hate to think of living in this pain forever. I know the Dr I would trust to do the revision But he is a long way from me. And no one to take me. My husband can no longer drive. I see pain mgt. Jan. 17th everyone says he is a great Dr and does not throw pills at you. That is not my solution. I do all the driving. I don't want that life anyway. I will see what he says and at least maybe after a year he will do a CT of my knee. I will be thinking and praying on this as I have been. Thank you again lawman.
Thank you for the hug. Needed it.
