Coccydenia… Do you ever really ever recover?
Freak accident happened in my own living room . It resulted in tailbone pain. What has worked for people who have improved this problem?

Sometimes landing on your tailbone can move it out of its correct position. Mine is a little horizontal from trying to fly with insufficient wings as a child. Chiropractors can adjust the coccyx. After and adjustment I have no pain.

1 ReactionPT exercises really helped me. I still use them periodically to keep from backsliding. Since I left PT about a year ago it has not recurred. Don't give up!

1 Reactionbunnybear, the pain relief can last for six or seven months without treatment Sometimes I aggravate the tailbone by sitting too long on a hard surface. At the first twinge I ask the chiropractor to check the tailbone position and sometimes it is slightly rotated. He can't make it straight, but he does eliminate the pain.
I like chiropractics and my thoracic and hip adjustment don't hold because of slight scoliosis. But the coccyx is below all of that.
I should warn you that there is an internal adjustment that I never have had. Mine is just an external manipulation of the coccyx.
I don't know if this adjustment works for other specific injuries of the coccxy. It is worth trying.
Best Luck

1 ReactionI thank everyone who has responded to me. I am very worried about this life shift, for I realize it might last on and off for the rest of my life, but I am working on not feeling broken mentally and physically. I am going for my second nerve block next week. Thank you all for answering me. Going to start PT next week.. was hard to find the right therapist/ person, but did it!:)))
Hi, dealing with chronic tailbone pain. Wondering if anything worked for you?
jjfrost22, I have a slightly crooked tailbone from trying to fly when I was a child. The only thing that works for me is chiropractics. On my tailbone it works immediately and will last 6 to 10 months or probably until I do something that rotates it a little. I see a number of chiropractors; some aren't great with the tailbone adjustment.
Have you had the tailbone imaged.
