CLL and high kappa free light chains

Posted by kellim @kellim, Feb 9, 2023

I was recently diagnosed and been having a lot symptoms like hot flashes, bone and joint pain and fatigue. WBC are at 26 and lymphocytes 78. And now I have high kappa free light chains and a elevated kappa/lambda ratio. Anyone else have these symptoms?

What is high free kappa light chain? A free light chains test measures the amount of lambda and kappa free light chains in the blood. If the amount of free light chains is higher or lower than normal, it can mean you have a disorder of the plasma cells. . A kappa free light chain test is a quick blood test that measures certain proteins in your blood.
I have PPV-MF (oh, the fun of blood test) symptoms; yes! fatigue, yes! bone/join pain, (no hot flashes - but never run a fever; Getting cold is life-threatening because of cold urticaria.) Some people get hot flashes with PV
Hope you find answers and doctors that can help you!

Spoke to MD said malignant cells produce more proteins so this is expected. Not to worry yet, I guess this is typical progression.
Thanks
