Anyone been on a clinical trial of Immunotherapy and Niraparib?
Has anyone been on a clinical trial of Immunotherapy and Niraparib, if so , for how long and what is your experience, ( positive or negative)

Hi @tammykl, are you referring to this clinical trial at Mayo Clinic?

There's also this one that also includes radiation treatment at MGH:

Tammy, are you considering going on a clinical trial?
I've been on it sense October. Every 3 weeks. I was wondering if anyone else was on it or knew anything about it.
By starting this discussion, hopefully others will step forward that they are also on the same trial.
How are you doing with the treatment, Tammy? Managing side effects okay?
Thank you for responding. I'm sure they told me what to look for, I just have so much info in my head it's hard to know if it's the treatment or my new normal. The 1st treatment I was tried for about 24 hours , then done good, the second one I became extremely tried, but I also got a flu shot. I have NO appetite, if I gain 2 pounds I loss 3 , most days are good, then other days I think the worse. This week I've had alot of restless leg / body . My pain seems to be better. I'll have my 1st scan 12/13/22, I've always been a go getter, but this week my get and go has got up and went, and that's hard I've always been independent. I feel like a number, and it breaks my heart to think not seeing my family grow up. I travel 8 hours for a treatment, that's costly and tiring . I pray this will work. And maybe one day they will come up with something else that's not so toxic. I would love to go the holistic route , but I don't know anything about any of this stuff. So I'm depending on the doctors. Thanks again, hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Tammy, if you're concerned about anything, don't hesitate to contact your doctor or the study coordinator. Do you communicate with them through the patient portal?
Yeah I do , and they are great about getting back to me . Thank you
I am looking for a clinical trial so let us know how your test results turn out.My Dr is no help ,won't even look at the trials I bring her.I even got mad and accused her of trying to kill me.I am going to another Dr this week.I fought cancer before and I will fight again.
I just started this Clinical trial 02/02/2024. So I am on Herceptin and Niraparib. So far the only side effects have been extreme constipation with back pain and a small amount of fatigue. I had insomnia with Herceptin and so it continues.
Good luck with your clinical trial. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
For the rest of us, can you enlighten us on how you found and got into the clinical trial? And who is the trial with?
I’m very curious, because I’m just at that stage now. Most of the research I have done so far has not been very helpful. It seems very difficult to actually find one and get into it.
Thank you, Walter
Welcome, @sourdough. I second @waltsocal's questions. How did you find the clinical trial? Did your oncologist recommend it? How are you doing?
