Chronic UTIs
Hello!
I have chronic UTIs, which is not unusual for a 79 year-old. Almost every time I urinate I get electric shocks that run from my shoulders down both my arms to my fingertips. Every time I mention this to a provider I receive nothing useful in reply. These are very painful shocks. Does anyone else experience this?

.....I too have chronic utis (long story) and it is very painful to urinate small amounts multiple times duirng the day and night: I am 82... wish I could help but that hasnt happened to me .. must be horrible for you to experience. I know we shouldnt rely on Internetm but have you possibly done a search of your symptoms? J.

1 ReactionI have always heard that there is a benefit to pain. It is useful to alert us that something is wrong in our bodies. Urinating should not cause pain. I’m sorry that your providers haven’t responded with more attention to these complaints. One thing that has helped me is to get your provider to take it personally. Ask them what would they do if they experienced pain every time they urinated. Could you try that?

I have done an AI search and found this is probably neurological rather than bladder related.
i have chronic uti's with blood in it and smells terrible! keep going to the dr, and taking antibotic, all i want to know is why abd what is causing it?

1 ReactionI don't know how old you are, but vaginal atrophy can be related. Estradiol is a topical estrogen cream that helps me.

I did an Internet search but now see you also have done one.... may I put photo of what I found, and of course, am not dianozing you... just trying to help... am wondering IF when you empty bladder you are sort of bending spine or tilting head.... sounds horrible to get these shocks... just to say now Urologist has let me go as cannot do any moe and painful p's night and day asi dont want to wake anyone else in household, i use urinal in bedroom and obviously standing up.. if you felt like experimenting to see if still get the shocks.. hope ok to suggest this, J

1 Reaction...on the lighter side,having bad day, also have vision issues and saws your name, kjaffee and a verty tiny photo of you on this tiny ipad screen... dark skin with a large mask and a flat hat: !!!!! Well, it is MY icon photo, a jar of my favourite jam..... not a frace.... omg i need new and improved eye glasses 🙂
