Chronic pelvic pain

Posted by airey2 @airey2, 3 days ago

Left Pelvic pain began in 1984 with endometriosis, undiagnosed. In 2014 finally found a knowledgeable Dr who diagnosed and removed it. The endometriosis pain morphed into inguinal hernia pain, in same location. Hernia repair in 2025, post op pain has been worse than the hernia pain.
Drs do not examine me for cause but automatically prescribed gabapentin. Several coworkers have had problems with it, so I am afraid to take gabapentin. I do take Advil, but have been using it for years for the endometriosis pain so I am afraid of internal bleeding. Tylenol does nothing for pain. What should I do? What kind of Dr should I go to? The hernia surgeon and primary don't do anything and don't know what kind of Dr to go to now.
Btw: I do have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in my wrist due to a break, was wondering if also have it in pelvis.

Do you have hernia mesh? My first gynaecological surgery at age 16; hysterectomy at 23 but endometriosis diagnosis was not reported and record was not obtained until I was 39 and in a different part of the country. After 5 surgeries, it was thought all endometriosis was gone, but then an obturator hernia. Surgeon did not know (?) what happened, but I came out of surgery paralyzed in one leg for awhile, unable to walk for 7 months, excruciating pain. Pain and neuropathy to this day, 36 years later. L4 to S2 injured. Pudendal nerve pain, and more. CRPS. It is known that the heavy Marlex hernia mesh migrated, no doubt causing much of my pain. Was overdosed on meds after the injurious surgery. Cannot tolerate oral or cream meds. Gabapentin has had no effect. Have had epidurals, nerve blocks, corticosteroid injections. Now seeing the top doctor at a pain clinic, but as yet he has not found an injection site that has proved positive. As I still wait for some help, with now compressed nerves in my degenerating spine, I can only suggest a good Pain Clinic.
