Chronic Kidney Failure? MRI with contrast

Posted by briang1958 @briang1958, Feb 24 3:58pm

My Primary just added Stage 3a chronic kidney disease (HRC) to my chart. Last few blood draws show high Creatinine; numbers are not high enough to be worried.
I asked about what the root cause might be and how to remediate.
He said most people get this from Advil (ibuprofen) and I should limit intake; I do not use Advil. He said the contrast from MRIs will also raise your Creatinine. Oh boy have I been getting a whole bunch of those lately.

WATER, WATER, WATER, and MORE WATER after an MRI w/contrast = lesson learned

I hope they told you at your first scan to flush with water after the test. I was told to do so.
