Chronic cough is much better now.

I had a chronic cough that lasted a year and a half. I was pretty much house bound. The only relief I got was when I was able to lie down. The coughing stopped then. I saw an ENT, lung Dr, primary Doctor. Was scheduled to see a heart specialist. I changed primary doctors, and he prescribed pantoprazole 40 mg. He said it could be "silent acid reflux." He got it right. My previous Dr said it was COPD.
In addition, I stopped drinking carbonated drinks which trigger the coughing. I also almost completely cut out caffeine. This triggers the coughing as well.
This has given me my life back.

One other thing. The chronic cough also caused me to have difficulty breathing out of my nose. I was considering a sinus procedure that would open my nasal passages. I don't need this done now.

Acid reflux is causing my chronic cough. I take medicine, I've gotten choked too. I just started drinking smoothies and my cough is hardly there. I'm having a Fluoro Barium Swallow With Speech today,, to see if there's any aspirations
