Cervical cancer found in lymph nodes and spreading
An update: after 13 cycles of TIVDAK, it stopped working. The lymph nodes in my left neck and abdomen have increased and cancer has built up around my urether again. My oncologist refers to all this as “progression.” In two weeks, he is shifting me to a different targeted therapy - ENHERTU, originally for breast cancer now expanded to other cancers., I’m interested in hearing similar experiences… types of treatment when there is lymph node involvement, and alternative treatments. Thank you!

Enhertu is working for me. I have endometrial stage 3C1 serous cancer. Have had 7 rounds (spaced three weeks apart) and tumor progression has been arrested and some have shrunk. Overall 58% resolution.
The treatment is ongoing until the point of progression. So far so good, but it is a hassle being on such a restrictive regiment. I have to fly to another city to get the treatments which only adds to my stress.
This treatment is part of a clinical study to test the efficacy of enhertu for endometrial cancer, so is not freely available for the condition in Canada.
Hope this helps

1 ReactionCan you tell us anything about the study? I found out about it too late. At OHSU in Portland OR you have to be "Chemo naive" = never had chemo- to qualtify to be in the study. I had one treatment. My insurance wouldn't give my Enhertu despite my HER score of 3+. Glad you were able to get on it!
Hi there,
The criteria to take part in the study are:
HER2 expression status:-IHC3+, IHC2+, IHC1+.
I did have previous cycles of nab-paclitaxel and carboplatinab, which didn't work for me.
This is a Canadian clinical study, but it is funded by Asta-Zeneca. I don't see why a clinical study in Portland would be any different. Why would you need insurance? Perhaps to pay for all the pre-trial tests you have to submit? I don't really know. The Canadian government pays for most of our medical costs.
I don’t know about the study … waiting for insurance approval for ENHERTU … thank you
I’ve had stage 4 cervical cancer for 2 years now. I have been treated with 6 different drugs. I’m on ENHERTU now; it has been working to shrink and/or stabilize things. Affected lymph nodes in my abdomen area now show no cancer.
But the cancer has spread to my spine, lower back area. I will probably undergo radiation for this. I meet with a radiation oncologist on October 2.
My questions are: has anyone had a similar experience and how were you treated?
Thank you!
