CBG (not just CBD) oil for Neuropathy

Posted by elena_l @elenal, Mar 27, 2024

I have idiopathic small fiber neuropathy and have used CBD oil sublingually and topically with some success. However, what really made a difference for my nerve pain and reduced it very significantly was CBG oil recommended by a CBD store salesperson, who shared with me that some of his customers found it more effective for nerve pain vs. CBD. CBG oil (the "mother" of CBD) has been scientifically researched and found to target nerve pain and inflammation. It is usually sold in combination with CBD such as CBD:CBG 2:1. Since it's THC free, I take fairly large doses and haven't had any side effects from using it. Has anyone else tried CBG oil for nerve pain and what was your experience like?

Hello from Boston,
A friend sent me this conversation link re: CBG oil, and it piqued my interest.
My diagnosis is autonomic peripheral neuropathy. Dec 1, 2016, my entire life changed in a NY second, when a 7cm blood clot ruptured through my IVC artery. The NY ER docs & nurses kept pumping me with fluid until they found where the bleeding was coming from. It left me paralyzed. My mobility is limited to a walker or cane, and I no longer have any balance.

Ever since that fatal day, I have tried every product from THC/CBD gummies, CBD this, CBD that. Nothing in the cannabis industry worked for me. Frankly, I think CBD is a rip-off, or my neuropathy is too severe for it to work. I smoked pot back in 70's. What they sell in these dispensaries is a whole lot different! Can someone please inform me where I can buy CBG oil, and do you apply it to your skin, or is it in capsule form? I've been wrapping my feet with Castor oil at night, and it breaks down the bone spurs I have acquired.
Thank you for reading my short story!

I live in a very small town but there are growers here who also have a story located just across the state line where it is legal to sell. They have explained it all to me very carefully and the difference in CBG and CBD. If you can find one of these inn your area they will be very helpful.

I have been using this company for their sleep products. My wife was able to get off of the muscle relaxer prescribed for sleep. I am going to order the cbg gummies for my wife’s neuropathy. Hopefully she can get off the Rx pregamblin. I’ve researched a lot of the otc cbd companies and went with CBDistillery.1) They don’t have all of the extra weird stuff in their products 2) their products are third party tested 3) their products are not flashy or geared towards getting high. 4) all of the gummies have federally legal thc and/or cbd or their derivatives. They do have a cbg product.

That’s encouraging! Does external application also help?

I would love to participate in any and all studies in the use of CBD & CBG for nerve pain from degenerative spine disease. I have it and have been using both CBD & CBG together for a couple of months with great results. I have also had rheumatoid arthritis for 50 years this year, yes, since 1976 when I was 20 years old and ulcerative colitis for 35 years since 1991 minus my colon all but 8 inches of sigmoid rectum where I still get flareups every now and then, but I don’t have a bag on my side… I think it was a good trade I am looking for help getting the CBG and the CBD or CBN mixed in there too as I believe all three are helping me without any psychoactive effects which I am happy to report.

I am also on oxycodone 10 mg every 4 to 6 PRN pain, and morphine sulphate 15mg ER every 8 hours.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I’ve had Polyneuropathy for quite awhile.

I do not take anything else but an over the counter supplement recommended by my neurologist.

ALPHA-LIPOIC ACID.
I take a 600mg capsule twice each day.

You can buy it just about anywhere vitamins are available. I get mine on Amazon.

If this works for me, you may want to try it instead of what you are currently looking for.
