What causes a downward trend of white blood cells?

My son has hypogammaglobulinemia and iga deficiency among other health issues. Immunology just said he does have a downward trend of wbc but the percentages are still normal and wants to discuss further referral . Not per se emergent but need an appt to discuss . Poss diff ?
