Tumid Lupus and Fibromyalgia Rheumatica

I originally went to Mayo back in 2013. I got a confirmation on my tumid lupus diagnosis. Since then I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia rheumatica. I am interested in finding out if there are any new advances in the treatment of these two conditions. I am currently taking 5 mg/day predisone(down from 20 mg/day,decreased 5 mg/month) for the fibromyalgia rheumatica, with alendronate sodium once/week to fight osteoporosis. I also taking 17.5 mg/week methotrexate to help with the tumid lupus, I think. I would appreciate and help I can get regarding these conditions.

Hi @billjan, I have polymyalgia rheumatica which is similar to fibromyalgia except I think fibromyalgia is not caused by inflammation or it's not one of the symptoms. I don't think there are any ground breaking new treatments for either but there are a lot of things that help which other members may be able to share with you. I really wish this hospital would consider some people on Medicaid. I have SSI not SSD. I became sick with lupus at such a young age in Florida and was t elegivsle cor SSD

Hello @jennifer2010, I agree with you that all hospitals should consider people on Medicaid. Recently, National Public Radio did a story on this topic.
