Catch 22: Dealing with long term use of prednisone

Posted by shirleygirl1 @shirleygirl1, Nov 6, 2022

Should I be glad or sad the wonder drug Prednisone saved my life and my unborn child! Granted I would do it all over hence the birth of a daughter consequently giving me 2 granddaughters and 2 grandson's fast forward 45 years later still in the dark about 1st, 2nd and probably 3rd generation of long term use of injections and oral steroid use what gives insult to injury from my experience is nada none nothing won't even discuss it much less treat it the Crohn's is in remission but boy are there stronger contenders emphasis on the plural conditions upon conditions I suffer from long term use

Welcome @shirleygirl1. I read in your profile that prednisone helped when you were dealing with acute issues related to Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, but now you are dealing with the negative consequences of longterm use of prednisone. Can you share a bit more? What side effects are challenging your quality of life? How are they being managed? What helps?
