Cardiac Sarcoidosis (Autoimmune Disease) and the use of Prednisone.

Posted by yubigood @yubigood, 1 day ago

Cardiac Sarcoidosis is a rare / uncommon autoimmune disease which affects the heart, causing Heart & Kidney failure and risk of an untimely V Tach death. Diagnosis is difficult and successful treatment usually includes Prednisone plus an Internal Converter Defibrillator (ICD). My situation: after fourteen (14) years of treatment with eleven (11) drugs (including 10mg of Prednisone daily) plus an excellent ICD, results in slowly progressing Heart & Kidney failure. My present goal is to STOP the prednisone asap and am seeking information regarding a realistic and successful prednisone TAPER schedule for my situation.
