Carcinoma lung (adenocarcinoma)

Posted by lungcancer @lungcancer, Mar 6 10:02am

My dad last year aug 24 got diagnosed with right lung cancer stage 4. Fluid used to accumulate in his lungs. He has gone for chemo for 6 months & now is on immunotherapy & chemo maintenance shots once in 21 days. Wanted to know more on possible treatments, his life span & if we can bring him back to normal?

Hello @lungcancer, I'm sorry to hear that your family is facing this diagnosis. I'm sure you are worried about what his future may look like. In the past five years that I've lived with stage IV lung cancer, I've learned that no case is the same, treatments are significantly better today than they were ten years ago, and that no one can predict our futures.
It sounds like your father is receiving great care. How is he feeling and tolerating the treatments?

Thank you for sharing your experience. My dad is a strong willed man... Trying to stay positive during his treatments... I just hope his faith never fades...& I understand treatment is different for everyone, but anything else which I can do for him?

Dad will continue adjusting to his new normal. He may not be able to walk as fast as he used to, or there may be other things he needs to take more time to accomplish but he'll get there.
