Carboplatin plus permetrexed

I realize this post is over a year old but wondering what your experience with hair loss was *after* chemo was done. I had 4 cycles of Carboplatin and Pemetrexid. I used cold capping for all 4 sessions but stopped when I switched to Pemetrexid only as the infusion center and DigniCap rep said it wasn’t needed with Pemetrexid. 2 weeks after my first Pemetrexid only infusion I started losing a ton of hair-significant thinning.

Has this happened to anyone else? I will ask my oncologist about Biotin. It sounds like it’s helped some of you. I will also consider going back to cold capping. Thx!

@mimicmckay, That sounds tough, to go through all the work of cold capping, and then to have later hair loss. The cold capping was effective for you, correct? Did you feel that you had any thinning from your initial combo treatment? Did you talk to the capping rep again after your recent hair loss? I wonder if they feel that it may have been a delayed side effect, still from the carboplatin. Either way, good luck, I hope you find a solution.
