There are medications that work but if you are susceptible to recurring infection. It's not in your best interest to take them. Because it will just come back stronger and more resilient to that medication and you'll just have to try a new one and a new one over and over again. You have to find out why it keeps recurring whether it be an immunity issue. A lymphatic system issue, whatever. Obviously you have to get your symptoms under control. For this herbals are better since you basically have to take them long term until you find out why it keeps coming back. The alternative is long term antibiotics and then your biome is gonna be shot and you'll get sick from basically anything.
I have Hashimoto's thyroid. I believe a number a years ago I contracted a yeast infection in gut/intestines. Over time, I have since developed chronic sinusitis/seasonal allergies, though I'm not allergic to anything that can be tested. I also have vaginal infection after doctors last year and this year prescribed antibiotics. The regular doctor I'm seeing doesn't believe in what I have and has sent me to numerous specialists - END, GI, Neuro, etc. The GI doctor prescribed 200 MG of Fluconazole for 2 weeks, which not sure if helped or not. I've tried some of the "Candida Removal" products, but not sure which ones are safe and effective. I've eliminated refined sugars/grains, etc and am eating as cleanly as possible. I just want to know if there is someone in the WI/MN area that is functional and a MD? The worst issue seems to be the chronic sinusitis. There are days when I can barely speak because I'm "clogged up. Any ideas? Thanks.
I have had incredible success with zuma nutritions products. I used the candida cleanse along with gut rebuild. But if you had this for a long time you're going to want to follow their pdf to the T. Which says 90 days. But understanding why your body can't regulate the normal yeasts in your body is the key. Do have and history of serious skin infections or immune deficiency? Been on hard medication? Also their lymphatic cleanse is some that is super important to keep it away. Every time it comes back your lymph systems gets bigger down more and more by the inflammation and toxins. So getting that as good as you can is key to it staying away. A great way to think about this is. When you perform physical activity how easy is it for you to sweat. For me it's always been very hard. I have to have almost maximum exertion in order to sweat. If this sounds like you then fix that lymph system.
I'd doesn't have to be an infection. We all have small amounts of candida. Everyone. Some of us have different strains that are more virulent. I just happen to have a lower immunity in my lymphatic system to keep in check. My circumstances are very unique. 37 years old, very good shape, not over weight, eat well and exercise daily. I'm actually a personal trainer. But like all people I enjoy a drink here and there and eating out from time to time. These things are what tip the balance in favor of the yeast getting out of control. My body has little ability to fight back. For reference I was completely free of it last November. But when i went of supplements and probiotics all it took was a basketball game and 3 beers and it slowly crept back to full blown attack mode over the last 5 weeks. That game was April 2nd. Like most of us I'm super obsessive when it comes to this. It's taken me years to figure this out.
You mentioned that you are at Mayo currently getting treatment. Is that Mayo in Jacksonville? Who are you seeing? I’m desperately seeking a physician ay Mayo Jax who treats candidiasis.
I'm waiting to get in but I finally put all the pieces together. Now obviously I'm going to consult with them soon as I get in. I'm waiting on the one in Minnesota but I hear the one in Arizona is the one to go to if you're absolutely desperate with digestive conditions. I'm sorry brother. Don't give up. Continue to fight and be positive. Remember understanding why you get this or have this is the key.
I can totally relate. Most doctors aren't interested because it's symptoms are swing wildly. I've had this for sometime and the only way I can live anything close to normal is to be on a full time candida diet. Along with antifungals. I usually cycle on and off those just to give my body a break. I'm on my last hope here at Mayo and I don't care what I have to endure to get rid of this. Completely ruining my health and basically every other aspect of my life. Let's face it, you are just simply miserable with a condition like this and it's impossible to have any time of fun or social life. It literally runs the show.

Hello @idalia ! I was just here lurking and reading, but had to sign up for an account so I could share with you that I’ve found something that’s vastly helped my sinuses. I started using a product made by Seagate that’s a nasal spray made with olive leaf. It’s remarkable how much better I feel already. When my nose began to improve, I noticed an earache on the right side, so I’ve started to use their earache olive leaf product, too. It’s all new, but I’m impressed with how much better I feel after such a short time. I’ve been chasing answers about why my throat felt closed up for about 2 years. Finally my dentist mentioned it looked like a bad case of post nasal drip, and I began to suspect my sinuses for the main source of my Candida. I had the blood test a year ago which confirmed Candida in the mucous membrane somewhere in my body was high, but doctors have all brushed this off and infectious disease said I should just ignore that result and be happy with all the negative test results for all the various unrelated things that have been tested for while I’ve tried to seek treatment for this. Anyway, this nasal spray makes me hopeful that there are accessible homeopathic remedies, if one can only find the right source for their problem. It sounds like you’ve narrowed it down to your sinuses, so I had to share. I have many other symptoms that I seem to be able to make a positive change on through diet, but my nasal symptoms wouldn’t budge until I found this.
So I made a major discovery in regards to candida and how it affects me. And I want to post this and hopefully it'll help someone else. I personally had MRSA about 11 years ago. MRSA permanently damages your lymphatic system. Well I also had very strong IV antibiotic. Everyone carry candida yeast in them in small amounts. So trying to figure out why you always get sick is like a never ending puzzle. It turns out your body has 2 lines of defense. One for small over population through the immune system. Some of us lack this control. But this one has a limited ability to deal with a large over growth. Which happens if you're immuno compromised. Now your body has a second defense, this is for larger overgrowth but but take longer to react. This one happens through the lymphatic nodes. This wipes out that candida to normal levels in healthy people. I lack this. So for me it means being aware after a night out and supplementing for a few days with herbals that kill yeast. As well as taking it easy on carbs for a day or 2.
I have been struggling with candida for over 8 years now. At first I thought it was just chronic yeast infections but after going to multiple gyn's and getting no relief i started going to functional doctors. I've been to 4 functional doctors where I have found out I have celiac disease, allergy to casein, adrenal fatigue, and borderline thyroid issues. I've taken nystatin, and tried the candida diet for 3 weeks with antifungal herbs but it just keeps coming back. I am constantly itchy all over by body (vaginal, eyes, ears, scalp, all over). I get red dots on my skin when it flares up usually on my stomach and armpits. I've also been struggling with chronic fatigue, depression and anxiety, I used to work in a sick building where I was exposed to mold and other toxins that showed up on tests. I'm not sure if I have been able to clear the mold and toxins from my body yet and if that is also fueling the candida. I am so discouraged and upset that its so hard to find a doctor who cares to get to the bottom of this. I feel like I'm at the end of the line and don't know where else to go and what type of doctor can help me next. I am starting to wonder if IV therapy for candida is effective and if i should look into that. Does anyone know of any doctors around Baltimore Maryland who specialize in candida? At this point i am willing to travel any where if it means I can find relief from this.

Also for reference mouth swabs are false negatives 25-45 percent of the time with candida.

Do you know the specific blood test you had that identified candida in your mucous membranes? Many thanks!
