Can you have both polymyalgia and fibromyalgia?
I have read about both diseases and I appear to have symptoms of both. Is this possible and if so are there tests that can be done to determine this. What is the treatment if this is the case. I have been diagnosed with Polymyalgia and have just come off Prednisilone, that was no fun at all. But I want to see a light at the end of the tunnel, I want this to be over. I have pain every day and night, sometimes I can put up with it other times I get so depressed with it.
I am very sensitive to medications so that makes it difficult.
I currently take Nurofen with a Nexium because I have a stomach ulcer that plays up if I take Nurofen by itself.

Hi Lioness,
I glad to hear other people are using massage and Epsom salt baths too, I also have cupping treatments (the heat, not the cutting) by a wonderful Chinese Doctor, as there is peer reviewed research to show this helps. It aids with my sleep and reduces the symptoms of the fibromyalgia and neurophatoc pain from several herniated discs. For exercise I do Gi Gong, yin yoga, walking, meditation and gentle stretching exercises, as I work freelance and this ables my body to keep mobile, strengthens my muscles, reduces my pain and other symptoms. Also, like you said, getting as much rest as possible.
