Support Group for Those of Us Living With Mild Dementia
I know there is a Dementia Caregiver Support Group.
I would like to have a group for people like me. I am entering the Mild Dementia phase from Mild Cognitive Impairment.
It’s frightening to think about my future.
Could a group for Dementia Patients be started?

I have Alzheimer's Disease. I'm in the early stages and have mild cognitive impairment. Our local Alzheimer's Association had classes and meet-ups for caregivers, but not for folks with MCI. I nagged them repeatedly to set up a get-together for folks with MCI. I'm happy to say that they set up a group meeting at their office, and now we gather once a month! While our partners and caregivers attend, it has been made clear that the group is not a time to express their concerns as caregivers. It's a time for folks with MCI to gather and share their experiences, concerns, etc.

11 ReactionsAnd so forth and so on about my research study🙂.
I had 2 more nuclear medicine pet scans this week and also got the summary of the tests from my neurologist. Thursday I have the dubious honor of the spinal tap . Fortunately this will be the last procedure this year.
My neurologist said that there has been a small progression of the Lewy body disease, visible from the scans. So he changed my cognitive meds to a stronger dose in order to slow the momentum.
Thus endth my study for another year, 17 more to go. Regards, Ashley

I had a spinal tap and was it was actually painless. They will numb you up good before. Expect some minor low back discomfort for a day or two afterwards.

2 ReactionsWell Mayo friends, it’s been a minute as I’ve been living life on life’s terms.
I had my skin biopsy last week, look forward to results.
My trip to Minnesota is just a couple weeks out and am excited about that.
Never thought I’d be so excited about going to a hospital 😊
My dreams had calmed a little, but two nights ago I had Vivid interactive dream of an old love and her grandparents that raised her. I had not seen or spoke with them in 17 years or so.
Following morning I decided to google search the grandparents and ended up seeing obituaries for all three.
My lady friend passed away in 2017 @ 48 yrs old.
This Saddened me ..
To add to it, last night I dreamt heavy and just before I woke there was a female voice calling my name and I responded with “hello” and called out a name.
Soon after I woke.!
And I live alone on a ranch.
I know this because I have a sleep camera and looked at footage towards end of night and I actually said this out loud in the real world!!?
Man, I’m not sure what or why, I had not thought of her or grandparents in forever.
Thanks for listening.

Good to hear from you!
I hope all goes well at Mayo for you, at the very least you will get some questions answered.
Regards, Ashley
@gardenia123 I read on internet that mci is reduced with high dose METHYLCOBALAMIN, like 1000 micrograms daily for a few weeks. I take 300 and now win my chess games at 83 yrs.

Hi Craigbyrom!
I too dream a lot. Some not so good, and some I hold in my heart all that day.
Especially when I dream of my mom, I just all day, think of it as a beautiful visit from her. And glow in the warmth of it. 💕💕💕
