can someone please help me? im only 23

Could this still be peripheral neuropathy? Or am I paranoid?

Hello, I’m 23F.

I’m incredibly active, ranging from 20,000-30,000 steps a day. I work a job on my feet, though, admittedly, i could be wearing shoes with more protection. I just hadn’t the money, which is neither here nor there.

But, starting Saturday, i felt a tingle in my right heel, especially when bending . The tingle is mostly localized there, but occasionally will be in the flat in my foot. It’s also slightly in my left as well. I’ve been scared witless for days, crying and feeling absolutely deflated.

I met with my doctor yesterday and he performed an examination on my heel. He concluded it was early stage plantar fasciitis, and i had a rare very early symptom of it via tingling. He pressed and flexed my heel, and it did hurt in a similar way to plantar.

I’m just scared. I want to trust him, he’s been my doctor for 5+ years. The tingling is present, but it is turning into occasional pain, which he said it would do. But the tingling scares me. I wasn't sure where to go, I honestly feel crazy. I really appreciate anything and everything that can be said, thank you.

Plantar Fascitis is all about the arch of your foot. Young people can get it by wearing shoes with NO arch support such as flip-flops. The easiest thing to do is buy arch supporting inserts for every flat shoe you own. This will go a long way to preventing or correcting the problem. Wear your new corrective shoes at work and dog walking but enjoy your leisure time shoes by using the inserts!!

Thank you, Sue!! Much appreciated and helped me take a breath:)!!

I Will absolutely put in the work to getting proper protection for my feet. I have insoles at the moment, but I’m going to use my next pay period for support for my feet. I have bunions, so it’s best to nip this in the bud and take the actions required to make it easier on myself.

Thank you ♥️

I too have bunions and Brooks is my go to sneaker. Do an internet search and you’ll find more.

Go to orthopedic doctor in those prescribe arch supports prescribe you a orthopedic things to put in your shoes and go find you a good pair at shoes and spend the money and quit being cheap cuz if you be cheap you're going to have more problems in the long run and quit crying about it if you don't want to spend the money. You don't want to spend the money quit crying about it. It's in the early stages so you can nip it in the butt.

My wife and I separately, had the same heel pain.. We bith were overweight and did not exercise a lot. We found a podiatrist that gave us a shot of cortazone that instantly healed our heel spur/fasciatus. I later became aware of PN pain, thst persists today at age 87. I'm lucky my PN only bothers me at night when attempting to sleep. I get occasional pains during the day that temporarily cease when I flex the painful foot.

I have b1/ deficiency. I felt like my limbs weighed 100 lbs each. Holding my eyelids open was exhausting. The test isn’t just b12 but an MMA which can show if it’s being absorbed. My b12,was high but not my MMA. I was a nurse and a good podiatrist told me your feet get no respect! They carry all your weight and get bumped, banged and walked on and rolled over so take good care of them! I wore expensive New Balance walking shoes but any good pair will do but make sure you are fitted correctly. I went to my neurologist and my neuropathy turned out to be pressure on my spine in my neck! Yikes! Surgery!
