Can audiologists tools damage your ear?

Hello everyone, I recently had an audiology exam done thru the. Veterans Administration. During the exam the examiner inserted some kind of instrument in my ears and I immediately felt extreme pressure building up along with pain. These symptoms have persisted for almost a month now. Does anyone know of any audiologists tools that would cause this? She didn’t clean my ears with anything so that can be dismissed as the problem. This has also caused extreme dizziness, nausea and my tinnitus to be worse than it already was.
