My husband has chronic nausea every day. Has had all gi test and medicines. He says he can’t go on like this. Nothing works. Is there a doctor anywhere that can help him. He is 81 and suffering everyday.

I had chronic nausea for 4 years after colon surgery. I felt horrible. I just sat in my recliner watching TV. My gastroenterologist ran me through a lot of tests...finally he prescribed NORTRIPTYLINE 25MG CAPSULE.
this worked like magic. I take one capsule at bedtime.
Please ask your doctor to give it a try. I will pray for a positive result.

What specialist are you taking your husband to? I would think gastroenterology. Have they done any testing? Bloodwork? Ct of his abdomen? Have you told them how severe it is? That your poor husband can’t go on like this? Explain to his Dr his quality of life right now. Sometimes you really have to advocate for yourself or a loved one. Don’t take nothing for an answer. I had severe nausea with all my pregnancies for like 6 months straight. I didn’t want to get out of bed. Have they tried Zofran? Compazine? They helped me.

@charles826, Have you seen this other discussion on chronic nausea?

I agree with @katgob about seeking help for your husband at a major health facility like Mayo Clinic or a teaching hospital. Are you able to go with your husband to talk with a doctor to see if you can get a referral to a specialist?

I have chronic nausea and live on Zofran that dissolves on my tongue. I have many gastro diseases. The generic forms don't work on me they make me vomit. I take 8mg and I take it sometimes every hour. Sometimes I can go several hours. But I can't take it 8 hours apart. Through the year's my gastroenterologist has told me to take it however it will help me. Sometimes it doesn't. Chronic nausea is awful and I pray your husband finds something to take the edge off. Good luck 🙏🙏🙏

Hello, I am surprised his doc hasn't given him anti-nausea medication to help him be comfortable until they find out answers. I have a non-cancerous tumor in my stomach which makes me very ill at times and feeling nauseated all the time. When my nausea medication stops working on me, I use something I do naturally with my nose, and I just sniff it and 100% of the time my nausea is completely gone it's called Moxe nausea relief maybe have him try that until they find answers for him. Good luck! I hope he finds his answers very soon!
