Nausea originates from the chemoreceptor triggered zone…. Not in your stomach. It starts with your nervous system
@rxjoey so what can one do about it?
The medical team needs to be notified. Give them the info. I am so sorry your husband is suffering this way. I am like many who have had nausea along the way, but not chronic. Are you being treated at a big-name research hospital? Someone else will post, but please keep us posted. Someone treating your husband is not hearing the request. Keep calling till you get info.
rxjoey gave a new question to ask.
What type of doctor would treat this?? Have been to gi Dr and neurologist??
I am at a total loss. Don’t know who to call ? They all think nausea isn’t serious. But they don’t see him everyday.
@charles826, Have you seen this other discussion on chronic nausea?

I agree with @katgob about seeking help for your husband at a major health facility like Mayo Clinic or a teaching hospital. Are you able to go with your husband to talk with a doctor to see if you can get a referral to a specialist?
@charles826
I, personally, have had good success with a RELIEF BAND that my pain specialist recommended. It looks much like a watch. It works much like a TENS Unit. I prefer the stlye that has replaceable batteries and not rechargeable. You can find it at this link: https://www.reliefband.com/ .. also on Amazon. There are other brands that may work as well and cost less.
Best of luck

Have tried not working for him
What specialist are you taking your husband to? I would think gastroenterology. Have they done any testing? Bloodwork? Ct of his abdomen? Have you told them how severe it is? That your poor husband can’t go on like this? Explain to his Dr his quality of life right now. Sometimes you really have to advocate for yourself or a loved one. Don’t take nothing for an answer. I had severe nausea with all my pregnancies for like 6 months straight. I didn’t want to get out of bed. Have they tried Zofran? Compazine? They helped me.
I had chronic nausea for 4 years after colon surgery. I felt horrible. I just sat in my recliner watching TV. My gastroenterologist ran me through a lot of tests...finally he prescribed NORTRIPTYLINE 25MG CAPSULE.
this worked like magic. I take one capsule at bedtime.
Please ask your doctor to give it a try. I will pray for a positive result.
