Severe pain inside inner thigh. Doc said arthritis in hip. Don’t want surgery. Is there anything that can be added in between bones to prevent from rubbing together?

I have been told that my shoulder joints are like rachets ! Bone against bone. Also, orthopedic surgeon says the only thing that I can do is have shoulder replaced. Has anyone had anything injected in the shoulder joint ? I cannot tolerate steroids.
Thank you

Had cortisone in both - with mixed results.

Had left shoulder surgery to fix a torn tendon and remove many arthritic spurs at the AC joint (cartilage between shoulder and clavicle). Pain is better but not eliminated - difficult to remove all the spurs and the darned things grow back.

The right shoulder gets a similar surgery once the left is done with PT.

Don't know if that's an option for you. I wasn't presented with the option to replace the shoulder joint.

Thank you for your response !
I wish you the best and hope that your pain decreases. I asked about orthopedic surgery and I even asked if there could be bone spurs or anything that could be done short of have my shoulders replaced and the surgeon said they could not improve my condition, that replacing my shoulders was the only option. I am 78yrs old and since both of my shoulders are so painful I don't see how I could do the PT or rehab after the surgery.
Good Luck to you.

I tore my rotator cuff A year ago did not want to have it repaired surgically. I have been hanging from a pole by both arms for 30 second intervals. Pain is your guys to have for you can hang. I also do exercises to strengthen the area. I do still have pain but not intolerable. I played pickle ball every other day and monitor my pain levels I have had some success with PRP in my knees I may try it for my shoulder if my painGets worse. Unfortunately PRP is out of pocket

I am also interested in trying acupuncture to address my shoulder pain. Has anyone had success with reduction of pain with acupuncture?
Also, I want to be able to soak in epsom salts and am considering purchasing a walk in bath. I cannot get into and out of my regular bathtub because my shoulders are so painful and I have no upper body strength. My question is that it appears that the walk in bath tubs are not deep enough to cover my shoulders. Unfortunately there are no showrooms with walk in baths that I can sit in to try to see if the water would cover my shoulders. My arms and shoulders are so painful that I really think that soaking would help. I cannot use a swimming pool, because I cannot get into or out of the pool. Thank you ! My heart goes out to all of you in pain.

As those walk in tubs r quite costly, I would ask ur doctor , or PT therapist, where there’s a hot tub in the area. I’m sure u could join a gym, with a hot tub, that would b accommodating. Try it🤗

I don't know about shoulders or other parts of the body you all are mentioning, but yes, there ARE injections for knees, where the b ones are rubbing against each other.

Don't know if there are any innovations since I had them (abt ten years ago), but I remember one was something derived from a rooster part (it's all nicely transformed into a clear liquid for injection) and there was another too. Both amounted to "oiling" the joint.
I wonder if there are any applications for other bone on bone problems.

Good luck all of you! Hoping you find relief.
