Anyone with experience regarding this chemo after failing on docetaxal?

My husband had 8 cycles, in a cocktail with carboplatin. He tolerated it easily, with no side effects, except one episode of neutropenic fever.
Hi @rso – I wanted to let you know that changed the title of your post so that it reflects the discussion topic in detail, and I’m hoping that others can see the discussion at a glance and join in. The new title is: Anyone have experience with Jevtana (Cabazitaxel)?
You may find support from others like @waynen and @norske46, who are also dealing with ongoing care for prostate cancer.
Were you able to get any information on why the Docetaxal treatment failed, and how the Cabazitaxel might be different?

I believe the docetaxal failed for the same reason the abiraterone did, gene mutation.
Not that optimistic about trying cabazitaxel, but I have been without treatment for over two months now and still waiting to have the pylarify PSMA scan done. Then in between waiting for the Lutetium 177, radiogland therapy, I may have to try chemo again. It's all very frustrating the inability to have a test performed in a timely fashion.
Do they say that he is in remission now? I hope that's the case for him.
No, his cancer is very aggressive. The chemo helped somewhat, and alleviated his pain. He starts Pluvicto (Lu-177) this month.
@rso I can only imagine how frustrating the wait time between tests must be. Have you spoken with your doctor about timelines for all of these scans and treatments, and if there's anything they can do to help you move through the process?
I am also at that point. Finally have my PSMA scan next week and hopefully will start the Lu-177 soon after.
I was wondering about the cabazitaxel because I may have to have it in the interim. I am only hoping for some quality time. It's been quite an experience so far as you well know. May patients like us provide vital information for those who follow.
They were finally able to get the PSMA scheduled next week. I realize my days are numbered, but with this new Lu-177 those days may have better quality than what I am experiencing now.
Thank you for your concern.
Best of luck to you!
Just asking if anyone on cabazitaxel was able to receive some financial help with the exorbitant copay? My insurance covered docetaxal, but not Jevtana. 2 cycles so far, no PSA check yet, so praying for good results, because the copay is over my means.
Thank you in advance for any advice
