By what percentage did your T-scores improve after a round of TYMLOS?
I am trying to decide whether to make the commitment to try TYMLOS. I have read reactions to the side effects and some saying their scores did increase in this support group.
I would like to ask those that took TYMLOS reply to this post with percentage increase or their improved T-score. Likewise, if you didn’t seen any change (or decrease), can you let me know that too?
I am thinking that if the majority saw high improvement then maybe the side effects are worth it!
Thank you!

I'm in the same boat as you on the fence about starting. The side effects sound daunting at best. I have read that hyperbaric chamber and the PEMF (electromagnetic pulse) Bemer treatments have had some results. Seems crazy in this day and age we don't have better options. I am active, eat super healthy with perfect blood tests yet here I am. It is depressing. I have heard some that have had NO results from Tymlos and others that have gone from a -4.7 to a -3.4 so its a crap shoot!
According to my doctor, the research shows that a 12% increase in BMD of the lumbar spine is expected after 2 years on Tymlos, and it is similar or slightly less of an increase at the hips. (I started 9 months ago and haven't had a dexa since I started, so I won't know until next year.)
Thank you for your reply! That is encouraging! I hope it goes well with you.
Thanks for your reply! I am giving myself 1 year to see if I can increase my T-score. During that time, I am upping my calcium intake, adding weight training to my exercise routine and walking more. I am also exploring working with a Dietitian and a Doctor of Osteopathy.
Like you, my blood and urine tests were in the ‘normal’ range with no red flags. I have not had a fracture or ever broken a bone.
It is depressing - which we should acknowledge - but not let it rule our lives! Enjoy the summer!
The side effects of dizziness, orthostatic hypotension (blood pressure drops when standing), nausea were too much for me. I switched to Evenity after 4 mos. With far fewer symptoms. So far though Dexa Scan was disappointing so I’m waiting for the next plan.
I think it is the side effects and after effects that have me concerned with altering your life! But we are between a rock and a hard spot unfortunately.
After nine months on Tymlos, my bone density increased 16 percent, and my spinal T-score average went from -3.0 to -2.0. No side effects. My doctor was very happy.
You must be so happy! I love to hear that type of result. Thanks for sharing!
After one year, the T-score in my lumbar spine went from -2.3 to -1.5. My hips stayed the same, although my doctor said there is often a change in hip T-scores in the second year. We will see.
