Budesonide and Arformoterol Tartrate
Can you mix Budesonide and Arformoterol Tartrate together in the nebulizer? If not, which should be done first? How long do you wait between doses? I have been doing my Albuterol first, waiting 5 minutes, then doing Budesonide. 15 minutes after that I do the Arformoterol Tartrate. Didn't know if I could speed things up. Thanks for any input!

I was about to say "consult your pharmacist" when I remembered this very helpful pharmacist-directed website:
https://www.meded101.com/can-i-mix-nebulized-medications-including-revefenacin/
The chart at the top is a "compatibility chart" used by them to answer exactly your question. The green boxes with a "C" indicate the 2 drugs may be mixed. Yellow boxes with "IE" indicate insufficient evidence. Red boxes mean the 2 drugs should never be mixed, and may require precautions such as time between dosage. The chart shows you may mix the budesonide and afomoterol. Just be cautious the first few times to see if it has any negative reactions for you, or to see if it does not seem as effective.
I'm not sure what your diagnosis is, but an inhaler containing Budesonide and Formoterol Fumarate is available - Symbicort is the name brand, but generic versions are also available. It used to be used exclusively for COPD, but is now used for Asthma as well.
In my case, it has replaced both my Levalbuterol & Budesonide nebs, except in situations where I am having an exacerbation, like an upper respiratory infection. It has been a game-changer as I am no longer tethered to my nebulizer for an hour every morning. And I only need the levalbuterol as a rescue neb or inhaler during asthma attacks.
Are you new to the whole nebulizing scene?
Thank you so MUCH! I will check out that website. I am not new to the nebulizer, just new to 2 additional meds to nebulize. I also am spending at least an hour twice a day to do all 3 medications. I will discuss with my pulmonologist at my next appointment. I will also ask her about the Symbicort. I have severe asthma and these additions have made a huge improvement, especially in regards to my coughing. Again, thank you!
