Questions: Breast cancer, high blood pressure and intermittent fasting
I have had breast cancer in both breasts with lumpectomies and eventual bilateral mastectomy. I have had lymph nodes removed on both sides and have protected my right arm as it is my dominant arm/hand and have seldom had blood pressure or injections or IVs in the right arm for several years. In 2018 I had the second BC in the left breast but have continued to use the left arm for those things. My blood pressure for many years has been excellent with medication. For the last couple of months I have been doing intermittent fasting...only eating from noon until 8:00PM daily. When I went for my yearly physical, my Bp was high...150+/60-70. I am monitoring my BP to see if it improves in the near future. This is very unusual. I have had a very stressful summer and thinking I was doing myself a favor scheduled a bunch of medical appointments in September so as to get stuff done and not have to think about going to the doctor again for 6 months. My yearly physical was in the beginning of October and that is when I found out about the BP. I also have been doing intermittent fasting for a couple of months (and it is working beautifully. I started a couple months ago and have lost 20 lbs.) I started investigating and see that intermittent fasting can affect the cicadean rhythm. Since BP usually runs higher in the morning, I am wondering if the fasting has caused my BP to be elevated in the morning. Also, the BP in my right arm seems to run lower than in the left arm which I am wondering has anything to do with me not using that arm for testing for all the past 12 years. So there are a bunch of questions here and I would like to hear if anyone has had similar experiences as I have had. The BP thing is a real concern for me, so I am checking it in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening.
