Breast cancer in the eye
I was diagnosed by a retinal specialist for breast cancer in my choroid space of my eye. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I find it’s very rare. I’m getting a second opinion at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
I started having blurry vision in my eye, and went to my regular eye doctor, and they said there was fluid behind my eye, preventing me from seeing clearly. Then I went to a retinal specialist and he said because I have metastatic cancer he sees breast cancer in my eye. Has anyone had any experience with this? How did they confirm it? Did you have a biopsy of any sort? I already had an MRI of my orbital area and they didn’t see anything in my eye but not sure if that’s a good detector. So many unanswered questions and I patiently wait.

Thank you for alerting all of us about this somewhat rare, but very possible, occurrence if you have breast cancer. I just Googled it. I don't know if my Opthamologist would have connected blurred vision, eye pain, etc. to my breast cancer. You are going to a good place. It looks as if there are treatments the same as with breast cancer. Please keep us informed!
Sounds like Mayo confirmed with the retinal specialist who I saw and is in agreement to stay on iv Enhurtu for three months and recheck eye scans at that time. Sounds like they confirmed it enough. I’m praying it helps. Now the waiting game.
I had choroidal melanoma on the back of my eye last October. My doctor said it started with a mole or freckle on the back of my eyeball. I also had fluid buildup behind my eye. There was no biopsy but the doctors were positive that’s what it was. I had my eye removed and the cancer has not metastasized. I am currently dealing with reoccurring phyllodes tumors that are benign. Please keep us posted as to what answers u get from your second opinion
