Bra or gynecomastia surgery?
I'm on a doublet protocol therapy (Lupron and Erleada) that has reduced my PSA to 0.0, and l'm very pleased with that. Predictably the loss of testosterone has resulted in a flabby belly and a nice set of hooters. I'm considering gynecomastia surgery . Has anyone had this done? How did it go? I'm working out daily but the fat deposits are persistent.

I just buy shirts one size up. Then again, I'm past the point of giving a crap what I look like.
Unless you are taking estrogen The gynecomastia doesn’t usually affect the majority of people. I have been taking these drugs for eight years without a problem.
If you want to prevent gynecomastia a short burst of radiation to the chest, completely stops it. It works better if you get it before you start taking the drugs.
You might ask your doctor what is causing this, Since the standard Drugs don’t seem to affect everybody like that.
I would really like to hear from people that are on the combination of drugs mentioned. Have other people had problems with gynecomastia taking this drug combo.
Lupron and Orgovyx should be equal in results.
Same with Erleada and Xtandi
Trying to figure out how common this is with just these drug combos.
I'm just coming up on 3 months in(Orgovyx / Nubeqa), Jeff and there is a noticeable difference. Now I don't know if it's actually gynecomastia, or just a loss of muscle mass appearing as such, but it's different for sure. Like I said, I just bought bigger shirts. I don't care which it is enough to have it scanned. I did increase upper body reps during work out to see if it will make a difference. This whole journey did start with kidney failure and my understanding is that could be a contributing factor.
I just had the surgery, they called it a double mastectomy. Make sure your surgeon when they submit it to insurance says it was caused by the treatment for cancer or it will be denied because they will say it is cosmetic. The surgery itself isn’t bad, the healing is tough. A drain in each breast for at least a week, with a tight wrap around your chest. Have to change dressing every day too. After my surgery I developed necrosis which added to the issue. Another 2 weeks of bandages. After that the healing goes well, a little sore on the incisions, scar tissue. Good luck
Jeff, my apologies but take me of the list of ADT causing gynecomastia. I was just rereading my PSMA Pet scan report. Listed in additional findings is "mild symmetric gynecomastia". Since this test was done prior to beginning ADT, the drugs obviously didn't cause this, but more likely, the lowered testosterone level is enhancing a pre-existing condition, which is either age related or caused by my excursion into kidney failure. In either case, since it's not going to kill me, I'm still just buying bigger shirts. 😁
I'm with mjpo512, I buy shirts one size larger.
I have long had hypogonadism. At one point, I was prescribed a fertility drug, and it produced gynecomastia. It is embarrassing, but I just don't wear tight shirts, and on the beach, I wear a t shirt. I'd love for them to go away, but not enough to risk surgery. An endocrinologist confirmed actual breast tissue, sigh.
As an aside, breast cancer is a risk for all males, but quite a bit higher with gynecomastia. I lost a friend to this last year. So men - gynecomastia or not - should be aware. The risk is low, but it can happen.
I am up to a C cup. Developed a lump in my left breast. Mammogram about 3 years ago. All ok
Just hard tissue. Really starting to hurt but don't want to go back yet. September will be 5 years cancer free. Maybe after that. Good luck to all.
I read that Tamoxifen can stop or even reverse the condition but haven’t tried it yet.
