Blood thinner and abuse
I’m going to keep this pretty short, I’m not sure who to ask or what group to ask or what to do. I know you guys will say call the cops, leave but all I’m looking for right now is if I need to go into the hospital or should just monitor myself. I can’t leave the house as I have Covid and my car is dead I’m stuck and I have a little one. To get to the point I’m taking eliquis 5mg 2x daily since the 23rd. I have lupus anticoagulant (APS) my sons father knows this too but yet he grabbed my throat because I got upset with him for yelling at me because my mother got my son a tablet for Christmas and dropped it off at our door. My neck is all red and tender. I’ve heard if you but your head at all you need to go in or monitor for any signs of internal bleeding. Does the same go for strangulation? Please don’t lecture me or tell me I need to call the cops etc. i know this but as I said I am worried myself and I have Covid.

@elizabeth513, I'm afraid that this is a medical question that we cannot answer. It's really important that you call your local emergency department or local telehealth to get medical guidance regarding APS and internal bleeding caused by injury.
I also recommend calling or texting the National Domestic Violence Hotline https://www.thehotline.org/
Phone 800.799.SAFE (7233)
Text "START" to 88788
Thank you Colleen. I will definitely reach out to a medical provider and text the NDVH
Thank you!
Take care of yourself and your little one. Please post when you learn more and to let us know you're safe.
@elizabeth513 How are you doing today?
Hi, right now you need answers; with Telmed being so available, I’m hoping you can get some answers and peace of mind by phone. Do you have a pcp with a nurse line, that you could access without identifying yourself ? We are living in an unusual time, I can’t imagine a medical professional not providing some basic information to save you an ER trip. Some domestic abuse hotlines also have a good deal of experience and access to doctors. I hope you are ok.
I am doing alright, thank you for asking @gingerw
I am still recovering from Covid but thankfully I’m doing a lot better. Other than that I did speak with someone in regards to this and fortunately I am okay health wise with any internal bleeding.
@elizabeth513 Please be careful. Not only for yourself, but for your son. I am worried about you, and what you may be going through emotionally also, at this time.
