Blood in urine after biopsy

Posted by Datu @rsun, Dec 18, 2023

Urine after tranpernial biopsy is color of red wine even after a few days. Anyone with similar experience. How long does this last? Concerned about blood loss over time.

Datu,
you might see blood for 7-14 days. I there are bright red clots, or you have fevers or chills call your provider right away. You could inform your providers office anyway, though it's pretty normal.

It is more like red wine closer to red than rose. No clots as far as I can tell. Called the doctors office and they told us the same i.e. wait. Just seems more blood and concerned of anemia. No other symptoms fever, chills etc

Datu: I had blood in my urine and semen for a few weeks after my biopsy. Its a bit disconcerting but seems to be part of the normal process.

Take some iron if you're concerned about replacing the blood you're losing. But it does not sound significant.

Had blood in urine for about a week after biopsy and in my semen for longer. Seems to be common.

I to had blood in my urine for pushing three weeks. It does finally go away. My concern is my BPH symptoms are worse after the biopsy. I only agreed to the biopsy because of a slight elevation of a PSA test! Wish I hadn't!

Update - urine blood cleared up after 6 days thankfully.
