blood in mucus from inner nasal fire wound, not healing?

Posted by charles000 @charles000, May 17 8:37pm

About a week ago, I experienced sudden flame from my oxygen breathing tube, going directly into my nostrils. It suddenly caught fire while trying to light a stove . . . I know, never have any sort of flame near an oxygen source.
The right nostril seems to be healing, but not the left one. It's constantly clogged with bloody scabs, gently blowing my nose produces mucus filled with blood, lots of it.
I've been taking 12 hr MUCINEX, but it's still producing more mucus.
I've already been to urgent care, been prescribed some Rx ointments and antibiotics, but hasn't really improved.
Any ideas? Actual suggestions or thoughts are very much appreciated.

That is really too bad and must be very painful! I have a chronic nose sore and my doctor has prescribed Mupirocin ointment 2% for it. It works very well. The sore will go away but if I get around a parking garage with a lot of fumes or cold weather the sore will return. I just use the ointment again and the sore goes away.

Prayer also helps! I'll say a prayer for you.
I wish you the best.
