CK stands for Creatin Kinase which is a muscle enzyme which, if high, tells the dr. that something may be breaking down your muscles, but not what. You would need other tests to be seen by the dr. A good rheumatogist knows what test to ignore and when. Experience seems to be a good teacher.

@sonnyforee10, it's always concerning to get lab results before having a chance to discuss with your doctor. As you likely know, elevated creatine kinase (CK) levels may indicate damage or disease in your muscles. Sometimes levels can be elevated due to new medications or other issues. This spike is only one piece of the puzzle and best discussed with your doctor. Your doctor knows your current condition and medical history and is better equipped to answer your questions.

Was this a routine blood draw or are you and your doctor investigating a change in your health?

Hi thanks for your advice. It was a monthly lab draw for my MCTD….
