Blocked tube due to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
Hi, I was recently told I have PID, apparently it blocked one of my tubes, is there a treatment for it? And what are the chances of it affecting my other tube and reproductive organs, I am currently trying to conceive, I want to be properly informed of my options.

Hi @tess4hope, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. You mention that you are trying to conceive, so I also added your message to the Fertility & Reproductive Health group https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/fertility-reproduction-health/
Here's some information about pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) from Mayo Clinic https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pelvic-inflammatory-disease/symptoms-causes/syc-20352594
It's not uncommon for women to not feel symptoms or notice they have pelvic inflammation until they have trouble getting pregnant. Is this how you discovered that you had PID? Are you and your partner currently treating the infection with antibiotics?
Yes I found out about it because I have problems getting pregnant, after running an HSG test, I have only had one sexual partner which is my husband and we do routine checks, I am surprised as to how i must have contacted an STI, are there any other causes of PID and can it affect my other Open Fallopian tube?
Thanks for your swift response.
