Biopsy Partin Table Results?
I'm hoping to get some info on what this "Partin Table" section is about on my recent biospy.
Lymph Node 1%
Seminal Vesicle 2%
Extraprostatic Extension 23%
Organ confined 74%
For full context I'm 62
Psa 4.37
Gleason 7 Group II Stage T1c
No PNI
My main concern is confirming containment & the hope I would be a good candidate to spare the Lymph and seminal if surgery is the plan.
The most confusing to me anyway is since I now know how important EPE is, what exaclty does the 23% EPE on the Partin table tell me?

The way your biopsy is described doesn’t match What is normally shown
I would want a second opinion on the biopsy of this is the best they can do.
Here is the technical meaning
Organ confined (74%): There is a 74% probability that your cancer is completely contained within the prostate gland itself.
Extraprostatic extension (23%): There is a 23% probability that the cancer has microscopic extensions just outside the outer capsule of the prostate. This can’t always be seen in the biopsy. It can frequently be seen in the MRI.
Seminal vesicle (2%): There is a 2% probability that the cancer has involved the nearby seminal vesicles (tubes that attach to the prostate). This information can be found in a biopsy of the Seminal vesicles
Lymph node (1%): There is a 1% probability that the cancer has spread to nearby regional lymph nodes.
Without a prostatectomy, you never do really know what the numbers actually are. I do think some pathologist can give you a better idea.

1 Reaction@jeffmarc thanks…My MRI simply states EPE-No so guess I’ll take that to mean I can ignore the biopsy 23% risk?
I agree about another opinion and actually filled out an online form from Advanced Uropathology in the hope of getting Dr Epstein opinion but never heard back

Not only that, but I’ve seen an awful lot of biopsies and they say yes or no to things, Maybe not everything but they do cover quite a bit.
Stanford seems to do it this way, which is really the best since it includes almost everything.
On my original mri it states EPE none, seminal vehicles none and lymph nodes no invasion with a .8cm lesion, but the oncologist looked at the same mri and said EPE 20-40% then wrote unlikely.
@ginger38314 and they wonder why we got anxious trying to figure this out. My MRI was not that specific. Only mention of lymph and seminal for me was from Partin table on Biopsy showing that %
@jeffmarc would it be safe to conclude that even though biopsy says EPE 23% chance but MRI says No that the lymph 1% and seminal 2% are probably a No as well?
On my biopsy there showed no spread but I read that some oncologists use a
statistical program that throws these figures out according to grade, tumor
size and psa so it threw figures out and he wrote unlikely, but still you
worry about it. I also read even when the tumer does seem to break threw
somewhat 58% of the time it's clean margins after removal.
